About the role

Description: 

The administrative apprenticeships at Juilliard provide immersive training in arts administration and orchestra management across various departments, fostering practical skills, industry knowledge, and professional growth. Apprentices contribute to Juilliard's cultural legacy in this dynamic environment.

Administrative apprentices report to department directors or office managers within their designated area. Successful candidates demonstrate passion for the arts, interest in administration, and essential skills like attention to detail, organization, communication, and collaboration in a fast-paced setting.

The salary is $16.72 per hour or a contracted amount of $25,414 - $28,089 (full-time only) for the school year. Administrative apprentices have varying schedules, including full-time and part-time roles. They primarily engage in in-person work with limited remote tasks. On-campus presence is expected as per the schedule. These positions are non-exempt.

 

Department: [Placement in one of the following: Office of the President, Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB), Vocal Arts Division, Drama Division, Historical Performance, Orchestral Studies, Office of Special Events, Jazz Studies, Preparatory Division, Enrollment Management & Student Development]

Reports To: Director of Professional Apprentice Program, [Directors and Office Managers of intended career path]

About the Professional Apprentice Program: This program provides immersive training for emerging performing arts technicians and administrators, addressing the need for practical training in the field. For over four decades, it has prepared recent graduates, early-career professionals, and individuals undergoing career transitions for employment in the cultural sector. This is achieved through hands-on experience, professional development, and networking and mentorship opportunities.

Pre-College Administrative Apprentice
This is a full-time position. The apprentice assists with various aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Music Advancement Program. The apprentice has exposure to key elements of performance and academic activities, including ensemble management, admissions, juries, and concert production, and provides general office support. This position works with students ages 8-18. Duties in the Pre-College may be assigned as needed. (view details)

Music Advancement Program (MAP) Administrative Apprentice
This is a full-time position. The apprentice assists with various aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Pre-College. The apprentice has exposure to key elements of performance and academic activities, including ensemble management, admissions, juries, and concert production.
