The Quality Laboratory Technician performs routine and non-routine laboratory testing correctly and safely. They report the data accurately and in an efficient time frame. They also generate and evaluate samples in the laboratory according to instructions to support development, product quality control and process research & development programs under the supervision of the lab leader.
This role works a 12-hour rotating schedule.
Major Responsibilities
Monitor and operate the Lab processes and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient operation
Perform appropriate laboratory testing to analyze specific samples
Evaluation of results and reporting
Responsible for appropriate corrective action to the questionable test results
Provide non-routine support to the production unit
Perform process test aimed at improving unit operations
Process data with computer software (data bases)
Performing minor maintenance of laboratory instruments
Lab and Equipment cleaning and decontamination
Responsible for safely handling chemicals in laboratory
Maintain a safe working environment
Ability to work co-operatively/collaboratively with others
Approval of raw materials and finished goods
Sales release & Marketing
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate of Arts in Science related degree and the following requirements
64 hours in a science curriculum.
1 year of general chemistry with labs for science majors.
1 year of organic chemistry with labs for science majors.
1 college algebra course or higher-level math course. OR;
High School diploma and the following requirements:
64 hours in a science curriculum

1 year of organic chemistry with labs for science majors
1 college algebra course or higher-level math course
The eligibility to apply for and obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) within a reasonable timeframe
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Chemistry
Five years of lab experience
Experience with lab software systems (e.g. LIMS, Chromatography, Titration)
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & OneNote)
Knowledge & Skills:
Ability to physically perform the required operations in a safe manner
Ability to work a rotating shift or other work schedule
