About the role

Assists with the management of the Clinical Services department under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services.  Provides oversight of program development, staff training, and daily program operations. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with Director of Clinical Services in the development, implementation and monitoring of annual program goals, objectives, and budget.
  • Assists with the day-to-day Clinical Services operations and scheduling. 
  • Leads or co-leads psychotherapy groups.
  • Reviews patient’s goals and progress to ensure program success.
  • Assists with scheduling and staffing to ensure that the department has the needed coverage and is within budgeted FTEs.
  • Monitors staff performance and provides regular feedback on quality and quantity of work.
  • Assists the Director of Clinical Services in the recruitment and hiring of staff.
  • Ensures that staff has adequate training in program processes and procedures. 
  • Performs chart audits and ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies.
  • Serves as a backup to the Director of Clinical Services to ensure coverage of Inpatient Clinical Services programs.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with physicians, nursing staff and health professional affiliates in the community.
  • Maintains knowledge of the developmental tasks and sociological theories of pertinent age groups.
  • Stays abreast of organization's programs and services.

Requirements

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in relevant field required
  • Current State of Nevada LCSW license required
  • Minimum of (5) five years’ experience in a Psychiatric setting with two (2) of the years in Management

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledgeable of patient rights and laws pertaining to mental health
  • Assessment and intervention skills
  • Persuasive manner and skills in overcoming denial and resistance to treatment
