Job Description

At Chromalloy, we believe in doing work that matters. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Materials Engineer to join our team and contribute to the technical and production support, as well as materials process and product development, of our cutting-edge aerospace and industrial gas turbine systems. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in the reverse engineering of aerospace engine components, ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance.

As a Materials Engineer, you will utilize your expertise in Ni base superalloy microstructure/phase constituents, metallurgical lab techniques, and turbine airfoil coatings to analyze and optimize the production processes and product designs. Your work will have a quantifiable impact on our business metrics, making you an invaluable member of our team.

On-site work location: Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Remote work is not available for this role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or other directly related field of study. Master’s degree a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace or industrial gas turbine engine materials application/selection
  • Knowledge of cutting, mounting, polishing, and etching of superalloys
  • Experience with lab equipment cutting/mounting/vacuum impregnation/polishing/Hardness (Secotom/Discotom/Exotom/Citopress/CitoVac/Tegramin/DuraScan/DuraJet)
  • Experience with SEM microscopy and Optical Microscopes
  • This role is not available for new/future sponsorship or transfer of nonimmigrant work visas.
