Position Summary

The research focus of the Sun lab is to understand how genetic variants contribute to the risk of neurodegenerative diseases, aiming to inform novel therapeutic strategies. Our research spans both genetic and epigenetic mechanisms, including gene transcription, alternative splicing, chromatin modifications, and 3D genome organization. We employ multi-omic sequencing and artificial intelligence tools, with a dual emphasis on developing new bioinformatics methods and applying them to cutting-edge biological questions.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to develop and conduct research projects using long-read and single-cell sequencing techniques to uncover the genetic underpinnings of neurodegenerative diseases.

Designs research protocols. Assists in developing and conducting research projects, including experiment design, data analysis and documentation of experiment results.
