About the Project

 

John Holland is progressing the development of Stage 1A of the multi-stage Beveridge Intermodal Freight Terminal project (BIP), a pivotal development set to transform the logistics landscape in Victoria, Australia.

 

This initial phase marks the beginning of a journey towards creating a state-of-the-art facility that will streamline the movement of goods across the nation and beyond.

 

Strategically located to harness the full potential of its proximity to key transport links, it is poised to deliver unparalleled efficiencies in the distribution of freight. With the latest advancements in logistics technology at its core, Stage 1A lays the groundwork for a hub of innovation, ensuring that cargo is moved with unprecedented speed and precision.

About the Role


John Holland is seeking an accomplished Project Engineer to work on the CSR work on our Beveridge Intermodal Freight Terminal project (BIP). 

 

This role calls for a dynamic individual with proven expertise in civil engineering, including experience with pipejacking and familiarity with inground rock removal techniques. 

 

Working under the supervision of a Senior Project Engineer, you will be instrumental in managing diverse civil works integral to this major infrastructure project.

 

With your comprehensive skill set, you will be responsible for ensuring that civil works are executed flawlessly, aligning with John Holland's commitment to delivering projects safely, sustainably, and to the highest quality standards.

 

Responsibilities of the role include / What you will do;

 

Overall responsibility for the role on this high-profile major project includes:

  • Oversee and manage the construction and implementation of civil and road works, ensuring compliance with project specifications and design.
  • Plan and coordinate the construction of civil elements of the Rail Signalling system and support other Rail Systems civil requirements.
  • Liaise with multiple disciplines and collaborate with project teams across different sites to deliver multidisciplinary project components.
  • Ensure all works are executed safely, adhering to John Holland's safety policies and procedures, and government regulations.
  • Monitor project timelines and schedules to guarantee timely delivery of the civil and road works components.
  • Control project costs and resources to ensure the economic viability of the civil works aspect of the project.
  • Perform quality assurance checks to maintain high standards of construction and workmanship.

 

To be successful in this key role, you must have / What we are looking for;

 

  • Proven experience in Civil and Rail construction, preferably with exposure to large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies related to civil engineering works.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams across multiple sites with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Proficient in project management, including planning, scheduling, and cost control.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to engage effectively with all levels of the organization and external parties.
  • A commitment to upholding health and safety standards and promoting a culture of safety within the team.
  • Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and site-based conditions.
  • A current driver's license.
