- Board Certification/Eligible in Medical Physics or Therapeutic Medical Physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR).
- Design and supervise radiation treatment plans using modalities like IMRT, IGRT, SRS, HDR/LDR brachytherapy.
- Perform weekly chart reviews, dose calculations, shielding surveys, and peer reviews.
- Oversee all physics and dosimetry operations and be on-site at least 50% of the time per week during clinical hours.
- Provide quarterly Quality Assurance reports for the Quality Assurance Committee and Radiation Safety Committee, as well as attend quarterly Radiation Safety meetings.
- Track, evaluate, and document all equipment-related quality assurance data including TLD and credentialing measurements for independent 3rd party analysis.
- Provide shielding surveys, and reports as required by the National Health Physics Program of (NHPP) VA.
- Shall develop, implement, supervise, and periodically review all QMP policies and procedures that pertain to radiation therapy equipment.
- Design, implementation, and periodic review of all aspects of the QMP that involve the use of radiotherapy equipment.
- Oversee the technical activities of all other physicists, dosimetrists, and other staff members assigned to the unit; directs the technical aspects of treatment procedures; and, performs duties qualifying them as a supervisor.
- Be available, when necessary, for consultation with the Radiation Oncologist and to provide advice or direction to technical staff when radiation treatments are being planned or when patients are being treated.
- Observe and/or help supervise complicated simulations and/or treatment set-ups.
- Be present at the machine during patient setup for SBRT/SRS and IGRT and at all the times during HDR brachytherapy.
- Specify and monitor method(s) to calculate MUs or treatment times and ensure independent review(s) of such calculations.
- Develop and maintain a method for the weekly and systematic review of the charts of all patients under radiation treatment.
- Perform a final chart review at the end of the course of radiation treatment in order to confirm that the prescribed dose has been delivered, and to document the total doses delivered to critical structures.

Qualifications:- Education:
- Master's degree in Medical Physics or related discipline.
- Licensure & Certifications (Current & Unrestricted):
- Board Certification/Eligible in Medical Physics or Therapeutic Medical Physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR).
- Experience:
- Experience with: Varian Linear Accelerators (TrueBeam with Brain Lab Accessories), Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) including Cone Beam CT, eclipse treatment planning system and ARIA record & verify system, treatment modalities including 2D/3D Conformal, SRS, SRT, SBRT, and IMRT/VMAT, IMRT QA systems (e.g., MapCheck), CT Simulators, and Superficial X-ray machines.
- Security & Background Check:
- U.S. Citizenship and a successful background investigation are required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
