Join Our Team in Recreation, Parks & Arts – Childcare Support (VPK Program)
Are you passionate about early childhood development and creating meaningful experiences for young learners? The City of Largo is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic team member to support our Recreation, Parks, and Arts (RPA) programs, with a special focus on assisting with our Prekindergarten Classroom.

In this role, you will help implement and supervise engaging childcare and recreational activities that support learning, play, and social development in a safe and nurturing environment. You’ll work closely with experienced staff, helping to create enriching experiences for children and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of childcare programs.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist with planning, organizing, and leading recreational and educational activities for young children

Support staff with VPK classroom routines, supervision, and child engagement

Ensure the safety and well-being of children in your care

Provide excellent customer service to children, families, and team members

Help maintain a clean, welcoming, and organized childcare environment

Ideal Candidate Will:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership

Management

•         Effectively manages assignments and priorities to ensure the fulfillment of projects, tasks, and responsibilities

•         Follows suggested procedures to ensure the highest standards of risk management, employee safety, and risk avoidance

Technical

•      Plans and executes leisure activities such as sports, arts and crafts, drama, special events, environmental education, tours, field trips, etc.; participates in teaching one or more leisure activities; may supervise a group of children, including planning activities and administering discipline in a camp situation or after school program

•      Opens, closes, and secures the facility and ensures all rules and regulations of the facilities are enforced; ensures all precautions are taken in maintaining
