Job Description Summary 

 

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for ensuring timely and effective implementation of all company’s policies, procedures, and activities involved in assuring the quality of our manufactured products. You will maintain close working relationships with other department managers and supervisory personnel to meet and maintain product quality. You will identify, solve, and prevent problems affecting product quality, maximize productivity, and comply with regulatory requirements. Depending on the facility size in which you work, you may lead a small team of people focused on Quality.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Audit quality control of raw materials, packaging components, labels, and finished products to ensure compliance with established specifications and regulatory standards
  • Assist in the coordination of testing results involving finished products, raw materials, and packaging components and the appropriate release and hold programs associated with these materials
  • Review data on Production Batch Records and other manufacturing-related documents to verify compliance and record keeping for all mandated manufacturing processes, quality checks, testing, sampling, and sanitation activities
  • Assist in investigating and correcting quality-related issues (including customer complaints) through collaboration with other departments
  • Make proactive recommendations and changes to improve quality and work efficiency
  • Share knowledge, skills, and best practices within Quality Systems & Compliance, as well as across functional areas offering specific proactive training or, remedial training when issues are discovered
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of policies, operating procedures, quality systems and programs which ensure proper testing, evaluation, inspection, and technical support to meet product quality standards
  • Participate in all new product launches, regulatory, third party and customer audits and inspections, and corrective action response
  • Drive business improvements by working with other areas such as Production, Engineering, and Maintenance, to improve quality and safety, streamline efficiencies and reduce operating expenses
  • Where applicable, supervise and direct Quality Assurance technicians/auditors who are responsible for enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices (SOP’s – VOP’s) and other quality-related policies to meet or exceed product quality standards
    • Hires, schedules, trains, and supervises their staff
    • Provides coaching and corrective feedback timely as well as administers disciplinary processes up to and including termination, as necessary
    • Performs timely quarterly and annual reviews for all team members
    • Facilitates team and individual development
  • Perform other duties as directed

 

Experience

 

  • Minimum one year of supervisory experience, preferred in a manufacturing environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree – or combination of education and experience in Quality preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel 
  • Ability to analyze data and determine trends and outliers
  • At least 1 year of work experience related to quality assurance, preferred in a manufacturing enviornment
