Job Summary

As DuPont continues on its transformative journey and readies to separate its Electronics business, the role of strategy, execution and governance in Information Technology (IT) becomes paramount in aligning IT with the ‘new’ DuPont’s strategic business goals creating market opportunities and gaining a competitive edge.

This position is responsible for driving IT’s alignment to business strategy, IT’s operating model, innovation, opportunity management, and capability road mapping. The Director will oversee the strategy and governance functions, ensuring effective communication, IT’s operational and financial performance, and strategic vendor management.

The Director will be part of the future ‘new’ DuPont Global Leadership team of IT and will be a direct report to the CIO. This is an exciting and dynamic role that will have global reach and drive change resulting in clear, demonstrated transformational value to new DuPont.

This is an onsite position based in Wilmington, DE. Candidates must be willing to be onsite and should live within a commutable distance.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • IT Strategy and Operating Model

    • Partner closely with the CIO to define and drive alignment with DuPont’s Senior Leadership Team on where IT enables overall business strategy and desired business capabilities.

    • Implement an IT Operating Model that enables the delivery of prioritized strategic business capabilities.

    • Define the roles, responsibilities, processes, and metrics that ensure efficient and effective IT operations.

    • Continuously assess and improve the IT Operating Model to adapt to changing business needs and technological advancements.

  • Risk Management:

    • In partnership with the CISO, integrate risk management strategies into the strategic planning process.

  • IT Stakeholder Management

    • Facilitate effective communication and engagement with key business and functional stakeholders to drive coherent and focused action.

    • Effectively communicate IT strategic plans to those key stakeholders and internally within IT to drive the right priorities, engagement, and behaviors.

  • Capability Development:

    • Develop and maintain a capability roadmap outlining the development and enhancement of key IT and IT-enabled business capabilities over time.

    • Support the CIO in fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning within IT.

    • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement within the IT function.

  • Opportunity Alignment:

    • Accountable for the IT Project Management Office (PMO) process, ensuring seamless demand intake, review, and rigorous prioritization of opportunities based on strategic objectives, potential impact, risks, dependencies, and resource constraints.

    • Conduct comprehensive architecture, security and privacy reviews to ensure the alignment of IT solutions with business objectives, industry best practices and affordability criteria.

    • Facilitate change in key IT projects by creating and executing change leadership programs that ensure successful transitions to new processes and technologies, thus maximizing business value from IT transformations. Specifically, leverage change management practices to reimagine ways of working across the company to drive sustained value delivery of AI/GenAI.

    • Assess and highlight portfolio insights, investment performance by focus area and strategic gaps and opportunities based on the overarching portfolio.   

  • Investment Transparency:

    • Lead the development and execution of the IT performance management processes, including value/ROI delivered over time, financial budgets and metrics and operational key performance indicators to achieve strategic and annual operational goals.

    • Provide transparency on IT costs, manage cost allocation chargeback principles, and measure the benefits of IT spend and capital investments.
