The Position
The US Commercial Strategy & Marketing Head of {Obesity, Diabetes or Cardiovascular/Renal (CV)} Therapeutic Area is accountable for the strategic management and success of inline & emerging assets for the designated therapeutic area, with a focus on integrated business planning, marketing, and customer experience.
Leads and sets US strategic direction and business plans for the designated therapy areas aligned to Novo Nordisk (NN) strategies. Informs portfolio strategy with TA-level priorities and implications. Role models an enterprise mindset while influencing functional leaders to align to enterprise vision.
In coordination with global counterparts, architects, designs, and orchestrates the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of effective pre- and post-launch plans in order to maximize patient, societal, and business impact for the Therapeutic Area. Accountable for maximizing and sustaining brand equity, customer experience, market share, and financial goals. Has significant decision-making authority and influence on impacting revenue, market share and profitability goals.
Leads the integrated therapeutic area and brand-level strategy planning to drive integrated customer centric strategies and execution. Oversees the customer experience design considerations and ensures a holistic approach across various channels to meet the needs of key customer groups, rooted in analytics and market insights. Develops strategies that account for health equity and inclusivity planning to resonate with diverse patient populations.
Significant contributor to the global strategy for the Therapeutic Area by working closely with global marketing and medical team members. Serves on cross-functional and global Extended Brand Teams and Core Commercialization Team.
Leads the cross-functional Therapeutic Area hub, influencing cross-functional members including Market Access, Medical Affairs, etc. Owns Therapeutic Area Brand Plan and drives cross-functional alignment and execution on key brand decisions. Leads expert advisory discussions.
Consistently embodies and roles models NN leadership behaviors, including to be innovative, take informed chances and take full ownership/responsibility of Therapeutic Area decisions.
Relationship
Reports to the SVP of Commercial Strategy & Marketing. The Head of US {Obesity, Diabetes, or CV/Renal} Therapeutic Area is the primary interface with C/SVPs of both commercial and non-commercial functions within Novo Nordisk Inc. (NNI) relative to assigned therapeutic area brands, their performance and business impact.
This role will have a team of leaders reporting into them, and will work closely with Marketing Operations and Commercial Excellence, to deliver on the TA promise.
Interacts with field and home office cross-functional areas, including key stakeholders on the NNI Leadership Team that work across HR, Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Legal, Compliance, Finance, IT, and Medical. In addition, serves as a key contact and partner to global colleagues and to a host of vendors/agencies.
Works in close collaboration with other Therapeutic Area/Brand teams, Market Access, Marketing Effectiveness, Field Sales, Trade and Government, Medical, Regulatory, Legal and actively participates on, and may lead, global team meetings for designated brand(s).
