Description
The Fine Arts Division of the Seaver College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences at Pepperdine University seeks a dynamic faculty member with a commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education and excellent teaching and recruiting skills to serve as an Assistant Professor of Music (Orchestra Conductor and Director of Instrumental Music). The successful candidate will hold a PhD, DMA, or DM with a relevant combination of experience and training. This is a tenure-track position, beginning August 1, 2025.
The successful candidate is expected to conduct the University’s Symphony Orchestra, as well as conduct the annual musical and/or opera, depending on the candidate’s expertise. The successful candidate will help administrate the overall instrumental music programs and may also teach advanced undergraduate courses in the instructor’s area(s) of specialization with consideration for departmental needs.

The salary for this appointment will range from $87,795 to $93,909 and reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this faculty appointment. Actual salary may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to salary, Pepperdine offers a robust suite of employee benefits.
