Sales Associate Retail - On Call

The Retail Sales Associate is an outgoing and motivated individual who thrives in a highly interactive environment and is truly an ambassador of the art of the industry. The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for guiding, informing, and catering to each guest to create memorable, best in class guest experiences, with the motivation of driving high performance goals. This role is a key contributor within a dynamic Retail environment where their selling skill set makes them an important part of the Department’s overall success. The Retail Sales Associate’s high visibility requires a strong sense of professionalism, including the continuous championing of the goals and priorities of the Palms Casino Resort.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates a pro-active attitude in a consistent effort to sell, providing solutions that best meet or exceed the guests’ needs by asking open-ended questions with the intent of pairing similar items to enhance guest experience.

• Is knowledgeable and confident about the product in the store to efficiently sell Fashion Retail merchandise.

• Will also assist with selling gift shop merchandise, including pre-packaged food and beverage (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), cashiering accurately and efficiently

• Ensures merchandise stock levels are appropriately maintained and informs supervisor of any stock level irregularities

• Provides outstanding guest service to all gift shop guests with an enthusiastic greeting and engages in friendly conversation, while educating, informing and focusing on each guest to drive performance results.

• Monitors and maintains cleanliness, sanitation and organization of the gift shop including but not limited to; straightening merchandise, dusting, cleaning shelves, organizing and consistently upholding merchandise presentations.

• Obtains assigned bank and ensures accuracy of contracted monies - Performs and accurately records retail transactions including cash, credit card, Earned Rewards and comps through Point of Sale System, using proper procedures.

• Documents & assists with all guest questions, requests, complaints or problems

• Maintains confidentiality of guest information and pertinent property data

• Remains knowledgeable at all times of all property features, services, and hours of operation

• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum 21 years of age

• Minimum 1 year experience preferred, performing same or similar job functions in a fashion store, preferably mid-level to luxury fashion

• Previous experience using suggestive up-selling techniques in a retail environment preferred

• Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal

• Outstanding guest service skills

• Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills

• Must have the ability to meet or exceed sales goals, as well as excel in customer service standards.

• Must be comfortable exchanging names with customers

• Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor in a fast-pace environment

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Able to successfully use computers and calculators

• Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations quickly and accurately (add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers)

Physical Requirements / Working conditions - Environment:

• Must be able to work well in a fast paced, multi-tasking, detail-oriented environment.

• Available to work flexible hours, as needed, including early mornings, overnights, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Primary work environment is in a climate- controlled retail setting inside a casino.

• Strength sufficient to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds below or at waist level and occasionally lift; move or carry objects over 40 pounds below and at waist level with assistance.

• Comfortable with heights and climbing ladders.

• Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone.

• Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, and over the telephone.

• Mobility sufficient to safely move in a retail environment, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and move merchandise.

• The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
