JOB SUMMARY

The Project Manager for the Geospatial Center at Saint Louis University provides comprehensive operational, administrative, and programmatic support to ensure the effective functioning of the Center’s activities and strategic initiatives. This role is responsible for managing and coordinating the Center’s calendar, meetings, and travel logistics, including scheduling complex meetings, preparing materials, documenting outcomes, and arranging travel itineraries. The Project Manager serves as a central point of coordination for leadership, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment of priorities, timely communication, and efficient execution of daily operations. This position also interacts with sponsors and stakeholders from multiple constituencies to establish project goals and objectives, identifying resource requirements and acquiring appropriate resources.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interacts with stakeholders to define, develop, and document project goals, objectives, (skill) requirements, and deliverable outcomes based on the specific aims and/or scope of work of the project

  • Develops project plans and associate communications documents including meeting agendas and schedules, tracks and evaluates project performance; organizes teleconferences and meetings of the stakeholders to monitor progress

  • Serves as the single-point of contact for questions regarding project schedule, scope, or resources

  • Manages and coordinates the Geospatial Center’s calendar, travel, including scheduling meetings, events, and other activities

  • Leads planning, coordination, and execution of Center-related events, workshops, seminars, GeoResolution conferences, and outreach activities

  • Supports the development and maintenance of relationships with academic, government, industry, nonprofit, and community partners

  • Assists Center leadership in coordinating partnership meetings, collaborative activities, and follow-up communications

  • Manages internal and external communications for the Geospatial Center, including announcements, newsletters, meeting communications, website updates, and promotional materials

  • Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, higher education, communications, geospatial science, or a related field

  • Four or more years of working experience in program coordination, project management, administrative operations, or event planning

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other standard administrative and communication tools

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in a university, research center, nonprofit, or mission-driven organization

  • Familiarity with geospatial science, remote sensing, GIS, or related fields

  • Experience supporting partnerships, outreach initiatives, and stakeholder engagement

  • Experience managing complex calendars, coordinating travel, and planning professional events

This position is being funded by designated funds, therefore continuation in this position is contingent upon funding availability.
