Epiphany Catholic School is seeking a faithful and enthusiastic Junior High Teacher for the 2026�2027 school year. The teaching assignment will include a combination of Math and Social Studies for grades 6 through 8.

Position Purpose

Under the guidance of the School Principal, the Junior High Teacher supports student growth in both academic and interpersonal skills by implementing approved curriculum, fostering a safe and engaging classroom environment, and addressing individual learning needs.

Applicants should be supportive of the mission and vision of Epiphany Catholic School and the Diocese of Peoria and have experience working with upper elementary or middle school students.

Essential Performance Responsibilities

  • Creates a faith-filled, safe, and engaging classroom environment conducive to individualized and small-group instruction and continuous student learning.
  • Administers classroom instruction using daily lesson plans aligned with diocesan philosophy and curriculum standards.
  • Meets and instructs assigned classes at designated times and locations.
  • Directs and evaluates student learning experiences in accordance with diocesan goals and policies.
  • Collaborates with the principal and support staff to address the needs of students requiring additional support services.
  • Maintains accurate and timely records, including assessments, grades, reports, discipline documentation, and notes on atypical situations.
  • Develops and implements curriculum for assigned subjects and recommends revisions as needed.
  • Employs a variety of instructional strategies and media to address students' diverse needs, interests, and abilities.
  • Maintains a classroom environment appropriate to the maturity and interests of junior high students.
  • Provides a supportive presence for students' academic and personal growth.
  • Enforces classroom discipline in accordance with school and diocesan policies.
  • Conducts required student assessments and maintains records per diocesan guidelines.
  • Maintains confidentiality of student information.
  • Communicates student progress to parents through timely and accurate reports and conferences.
  • Ensures proper care of school property, equipment, and materials.
  • Participates actively in school events, liturgies, and community-building activities.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with parents and communicates regularly.
  • Collaborates with colleagues and special services personnel to support student learning.
  • Adheres to performance standards outlined in the diocesan evaluation process.
  • Supervises students during field trips, recess, and other assigned duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Building Principal, Pastor, or Superintendent.

Qualifications

  • Hold an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or equivalent, appropriate
