Plant Superintendent (Night Shift)

North Star Sheets, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners, and corrugated manufacturing industry leader currently has an exciting opportunity available for a Plant Superintendent in Cottage Grove, MN.

The Plant Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the facility in support of the Plant Manager; including production goals, maintenance, employee interaction, quality control, receiving and shipping, and day-to-day operations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
• Training and Process Control.
• Monitor machine and crew performance, critique and adjust where needed.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Investigate and find root causes for quality issues.
• Liaison with customers on product quality and performance issues.
• Update requirements of all regulatory agencies as they change.
• Ensure that all laws and regulations are followed and products meet regulatory quality standards.
• Enforce OSHA regulations and establish safety training matrix.
• Leader of AIB food safety and product safety team.
• Create monthly and weekly reports on productivity and downtime analysis
• Update all product certifications.
• Work with Customer Service and Sales on machine/product specifications.
• Regularly inspect buildings and machines for cleanliness and organization and enforce / train where necessary.
• Minor to moderate disciplinary functions.
• Take appropriate steps to improve morale when necessary.
• Lead by example.
• Additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma and continuing education / 7 years corrugator experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• 2 years of continuing education / experience in all aspects of corrugator operation including maintenance and scheduling.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Ability to use Microsoft Office programs to create reports and visual training aids.
• High communication skills.
• Problem solving skills.
• Technical proficiency in corrugator operations and product quality.
• High mechanical skills, preferred.
• High spatial reasoning skills, preferred.
• Moderate to Low Computer / IT skills, preferred.
