About the role

The Division of Clinical Trials and Biostatistics in the Department of Quantitative Health Sciences is seeking candidates for an open rank faculty position at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.  The Department of Quantitative Health Sciences (QHS) is a multidisciplinary enterprise-wide department with approximately 80 doctoral level and more than 450 allied health staff members, located in Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona; Jacksonville, Florida; and Rochester, Minnesota, who are dedicated to improving patient care through medical research. Its mission is to grow and enable outstanding leaders in research, provide international leadership in specialties related to our expertise, provide cutting edge education to Mayo Clinic colleagues, serve as a resource for knowledge and data, and provide unique services that support the mission of Mayo Clinic. The Department consists of the Division of Epidemiology, the Division of Clinical Trials and Biostatistics, the Division of Computational Biology, and the Section of Biomedical Ethics.

The Division of Clinical Trials and Biostatistics is comprised of 25 Ph.D. statisticians and more than 200 allied health staff (biostatisticians and statistical programmers) with members based at all three Mayo Clinic campuses.  The Division contributes to research areas spanning from the basic sciences to translational research, clinical trials, and population health. Division staff collaborate with investigators within and outside of Mayo Clinic on thousands of active projects, covering a wide range of disciplines including cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, respiratory, cardiology, neurology, radiology, surgery, anesthesiology, nursing, laboratory medicine, and pathology. 

The Division’s unique collaboration model emphasizes the importance of disease area knowledge in the design and analysis of research studies by integrating a dedicated statistical team into research groups. Division staff develop, maintain, and promote state-of-the-art designs and analytical methods expertise and lead multiple initiatives surrounding study designs, data acquisition, data management, analyses, and interpretation of research studies.
