WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for an experienced, innovative and motivated Technical Project Manager to join the Growth team at Braze.
The TPM will work alongside Growth’s Revenue & Billing Optimization Program Manager, as well as leadership stakeholders & project members, to define, own and lead projects focused on:
- Evolving our revenue management system into an internal revenue & billing product
- Architecting & rolling out new processes at scale focused on revenue recognition and Braze’s path to profitability
- Work with change management SMEs to enable the business on related technologies, systems and use-cases
- Coordinate with the Revenue & Billing Optimization TPgM to align the larger business around strategic initiatives and projects
The Technical Project Manager will focus on defining and moving fluidly from the big picture to the details in order to deliver complex cross-functional projects. They will work side-by-side with program managers, change managers and process leads, as well as Growth and external project members, in defining and planning project requirements. They will also be the responsible party leading and pushing the project forward once kicked off on behalf of Growth, from planning to execution, all the way to measurement and results monitoring.
This role is critical as Braze quickly grows and expands into new regions and markets, and will be an amazing opportunity for someone looking to make an immediate impact with their project management expertise.
The successful candidate will be part of a diverse and globally distributed team. They will learn how a fast-paced work environment operates, and will be in an outstanding position to “network” through exposure with senior leadership and executives across the organization.
You should have examples of technical projects, systems and processes that you’ve managed end-to-end from kickoff/requirements gathering to the finished product.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Develop, refine, and manage a technical and strategic project portfolio
- Collaborate to define core business objectives and requirements in order to deliver best-in-class project results with the most efficient use of company resources
- Communicate and socialize project risks, progress, launches and retrospectives across all stakeholders and teams consistently and transparently
- Proactively remove obstacles to drive momentum and progress
- Identify communication gaps, manage issue escalations and provide support to teams balancing competing priorities
- Establish and manage internal and external stakeholder expectations as it relates to your projects
- Deeply understand Braze internal processes, tools and technology environment in order to drive your initiatives effectively
WHAT YOU HAVE
Who will be successful as a Technical Project Manager on the Growth team:
- An experienced builder, ideally within the SaaS or tech industry, with 4+ years of project management experience
- Experience with project management software, like Jira, Trello, or Asana
- Bonus if you have PMP or another project management certification
- You have strong communication, collaboration, organization, and persuasion skills, specifically in multi-matrixed organizations with competing priorities
- You have a proactive, positive, can-do attitude. You drive projects to completion and are always looking for new ways that processes and products can be improved
- You have strong technical experience – you understand how distributed systems and mobile technology products work
- Experience with web-services like APIs (REST, SOAP, etc.), web authentication (OAuth, SSO, etc.), and web principles like JSON
