About the job
Red Hat Customer Content Services is looking for an organized and energetic individual to drive execution of a new digital experience for customers. In this role, you'll partner with the product manager, engineering leads, and technical writing teams to create and manage program plans. Product release cycles are fast paced, and increasingly require solution based content to be created across product lines. The Documentation Program Manager plays a critical role in the seamless execution of program plans through risk management, capacity planning, status reporting, and problem solving.
What you will do
- Work with product manager, engineering teams, and technical writing teams to track the program plan, breaking it into executable tasks and ensuring all tasks have owners
- Determine risk and identify mitigation plans for those risks for the plan
- Resolve blockers and solve other problems that arise during development to ensure the experience is delivering updates on schedule
- Monitor bug reporting systems for bugs
- Report on and communicate about program status to product manager and leaders within the organization
- Document workflows and processes
What you will bring
- Degree or equivalent relevant experience in business, information technology, technical communications, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of of experience in a role delivering technology-related services or products, such as technical writing or project management in the software industry
- Experience with Enterprise Environments and Product Lifecycle
- Ability to coordinate the activities of geographically and functionally diverse teams, tracking capacity, status, change requests, blockers
- Outstanding communication skills in different mediums (verbal, written, in person and remote), including ability to set and negotiate expectations
- Experience with version control systems and issue tracking systems; experience and comfort with JIRA and Git are major advantages
- Previous project management experience or certification such as Certified Scrum Master, PRINCE2 or PMBOK considered a plus
- Product Documenation Experience
- Experience with modular/topic-based documentation, especially converting to topic-based content from traditional book models
- Proven track record of consistently demonstrating qualities of diplomacy, problem solving, and decisiveness within a matrixed and consensus-driven environment
- Experience with Agile and comfort with rapid iteration and fast delivery
- Experience with version control systems and issue tracking systems; experience and comfort with JIRA and Git are major advantages
- Demonstrated success taking accountability for project execution and completion
- Familiarity with Red Hat's enterprise solutions portfolio and open source software business models
- Previous project management experience or certification such as Certified Scrum Master, PRINCE2 or PMBOK considered a plus
The salary range for this position is $111,260- $143,675. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.
