North Wind Site Services is focused on providing engineering, program management, environmental remediation services including investigation and characterization, environmental restoration, unexploded ordnance/military munitions response (MMRP), regulatory public involvement services, environmental compliance, logistics, and records and facility management.

This position supports a healthy work-life balance with a 10-hour day, 4-day per week schedule, allowing for long weekends to explore Northern New Mexico and the surrounding area. The job is local to the Los Alamos and Santa Fe area. Los Alamos consistently ranks as one of Livability.com’s Best Small Towns in America. The city is a top spot for outdoor enthusiasts as it has more than 120 hiking and biking trails, and residents enjoy easy access to the Pajarito Mountain Ski Area. Thanks to the University of New Mexico-Los Alamos’ presence in the area, Los Alamos also has a college-town vibe that’s a major draw for young professionals, families, and retirees.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a safe, healthy, and compliant working environment for project teams
  • Lead project personnel to work safely, efficiently, and produce high quality work products
  • Manage financial performance indicators to complete projects on schedule and budget
  • Review contracts, proposals, and plans to identify objectives, requirements, and constraints
  • Develop plans to guide execution, allocate resources, monitor, and control costs
  • Direct the procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers
  • Monitor and maintain resource loaded schedules and associated performance metrics
  • Work with Field Team Leads and Subject Matter Experts to identify and resolve issues
  • Prepare project budgets, revenue and profit projections, and performance metrics
  • Enforce client and company safety rules

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a geosciences, environmental science, engineering, or project management
  • 10 year’s project management experience, including experience executing environmental projects under federal government contracts

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of project management principles and techniques including scheduling, budgeting, earned value management, and change control
  • Strong technical knowledge of environmental site characterization and remediation procedures
  • Understanding of the regulatory processes and requirements to achieve clean-closure
  • Practical skills in applying client-relations and team building concepts
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
