That’s why we are seeking like-minded Caregivers to join our Bupa Winara Care Home located in Waikanae, Kapiti Coast. As a Caregiver at Bupa, you will work under the guidance and supervision of qualified nursing staff and management, to make a positive impact on the lives of our residents. You will be encouraged to develop deeper relationships with residents and their families, delivering the highest quality person first care to residents in line with their individual care plan. 

We have a variety of permanent positions available that will suit the work-life balance you are looking for.

These roles are working on a 4-days on, 2-days off rotating roster pattern (Monday - Sunday):

1) Permanent, Part time role: average of 25 hours per week

  • Mix of AM & PM shifts: 8am to 1:30pm and 4pm to 9pm.
  • Total of 150 hours in a 6-weekly roster pattern.
  • This role is based in our dementia community.

2) Permanent, part time role: average 21 hours per week

  • PM shift only, 4pm – 9pm.
  • Total of 126 hours in a 6-weekly roster pattern.

3) Permanent, full time Night Shift Role: average 32 hours per week

  • Night shift (11pm – 7am) working a pattern of 4 nights on, 2 nights off.
  • Total of 192 hours in a 6-weekly roster pattern.

4) Permanent, full time role: average of 32 hours per week

  • Mix of AM and PM shifts.
  • Total of 192 hours in a 6-weekly roster pattern.

5) Fixed Term until 8/01/2026: average of 32 hours per week

  • AM shift only.
  • Total of 192 hours in 6-weekly roster pattern.

Where You Will Make an Impact  

  • Provide personal care assistance with daily living, whilst treating residents with respect and dignity.
  • Mobility assistance in accordance with resident care plans.
  • Maintain accurate health care documentation as required.
  • Encourage all residents to participate in scheduled social activities.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive, safe, home environment for residents, visitors, and the wider team.

What About You

  • An NZQA Health and Wellbeing Certificate Level 2-4 is preferred.
  • Ideally you will have a minimum of 1 year of experience within aged care.
  • Ideal experience or training in dementia care.
  • Demonstrate genuine enthusiasm, dedication to care, and passion for enriching the lives of the elderly.
  • Confident communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in NZ.
