The student will do research with Dr. Pham in one or more problems in Mathematical Modelling. The student will have hands-on experience with modelling a real-life problem such as random birth process, fluid flows, convection, diffusion, analyzing the model analytically, and then simulating it on the computer. The required background is Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Probability/Statistics. Some programming experience with Mathematica or Python will be a plus.
Primary Responsibilities
Prepare, manipulate, and manage extensive databases.
Assist with the preparation of project-related reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
Perform statistical analyses of data, using computer software.
Verify the accuracy and validity of data entered in databases, correcting any errors.
Performs other duties as assigned.
