Job Summary
The Individual Annuities Operations Technical Associate supports the processing and servicing of individual annuity products purchased outside of employer-sponsored retirement plans. This role manages a caseload of new business applications and service requests, ensuring applications, supporting documentation, and funds are reviewed, reconciled, and processed accurately across multiple systems. Associates work closely with producers, agents, and internal business partners to resolve discrepancies, obtain required information, and facilitate the timely issuance and servicing of annuity contracts. The position requires strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and a commitment to quality, as transactions often involve significant financial assets and regulatory requirements. Success in this role depends on balancing accuracy, productivity, and customer service while proactively driving cases to completion. The Individual Annuities Operations Technical Associate plays a key role in delivering a compliant, efficient, and positive experience throughout the policy lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Review, evaluate, and process individual annuity applications and service transactions, ensuring completeness, accuracy, compliance, and proper funding prior to policy issuance.
Manage assigned cases and service requests using Salesforce and other business systems, maintaining accurate records and driving timely resolution of outstanding items.
Verify, reconcile, and process application data, financial transactions, fund transfers, distributions, claims, and related documentation across multiple systems and workflows.
Partner with producers, agents, and internal stakeholders through phone and email communication to gather missing information, resolve discrepancies, interpret requirements, and move transactions efficiently through the process.
Apply established business, regulatory, financial, and legal guidelines to research issues, assess risk, ensure compliance, and maintain high standards of quality and accuracy throughout the policy lifecycle.
Skills and Background You’ll Need
Education: Associate degree in related field or equivalent experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in financial services, insurance, or individual annuities, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Prior experience processing individual annuity applications, transactions, or policy servicing activities.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately manage high-volume, repetitive processing work involving financial transactions.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively partner with producers, agents, and internal stakeholders.
Experience working with multiple systems and applications simultaneously, including insurance or financial services platforms and case management tools.
Basic understanding of accounting principles, financial transactions, and mathematical calculations related to annuity processing.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze information, identify discrepancies, and determine appropriate actions.
Ability to interpret and apply technical, regulatory, and procedural guidelines while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and quality standards.
