Moog is looking for a Project Quality Engineer to plan, implement, and administer cost-effective quality processes which will meet or exceed contractual quality requirements and provide the required level of protection to Moog and its Customers.  The Project Quality Engineer promotes the highest standards of quality and understands the important nature of the very complex hardware Moog produces.  The Project Quality Engineer functions as a group leader, providing technical direction to two or three Quality Engineers or Quality Technicians and will administer performance reviews after concurrence with the Quality Manager.

To be considered for this role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you: 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or equivalent STEM with a minimum of 10 years for experience in manufacturing.

  • A minimum of 8  years of experience in a Quality Engineering roles in a manufacturing environment including experience with AS9100 or other similar quality management system standards.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with the following:  

  • Root Cause Analysis

  • Handling product or processing of non-conformances, including in process-oriented environments that deal with mission critical products

  • First Article Inspection Report generation

  • Specialized technical knowledge of complex manufacturing, assembly, and functional test methods. 

  • Must be a proficient user of various statistical, spreadsheet, word processing, and database software packages

As a Project Quality Engineer, you will:

  • Be a key stakeholder on program teams in meeting contractual requirements and driving crucial quality related decisions for our customers.  This includes management and coordination of customer, government, regulatory agency audits and ensuring flow down of contract requirements to sub tier suppliers.

  • Develop complex production and development Quality plans for receiving inspection, manufacturing operations, assembly & test processes, and final inspection.

  • Improve production, reduce inspection cost, and prevent cost due to failure by applying problem solving techniques and conducting quality engineering studies and including studies to improve products or processes or to develop new systems and procedures.   These studies require mastery of analysis techniques.

  • Review materials for disposition and lead root cause and corrective action analyses and failure analyses with teams solving emerging problems. Work effectively with teams that may include customers, suppliers, operations personnel, and personnel from other Engineering disciplines, to identify and implement verifiable solutions.  This requires a collaborative and creative approach to complex problem solving.

  • Develop Engineering professionals to deliver on Moog SDG strategic priorities

  • Review program and personnel assignments to ensure mission success and equitable work distribution
