Kimberly-Clark is seeking a Senior Technical Agronomist to join our agriculture team. This position requires a motivated self-starter to assist with our agricultural equipment development for the commercialization a new crop. The position will be responsible for working with our agronomy team in designing and executing field equipment trials, improving harvesting equipment, and developing field equipment operation and logistical protocols. This role will collaborate regularly with agronomists, scientists, and cross-functional partners in the organization; lead and perform extensive in-field trial work; and collaborate with numerous research and commercial agricultural partners.
Responsibilities
- Become the team’s go-to expert on agricultural equipment.
- Lead development of harvesting equipment, processes, management and equipment software, and logistical flow of a new crop to maintain commercial timelines.
- Perform field trials on various types of agricultural equipment and report results to help transition R&D concepts into commercial applications.
- Collaborate with commercial agriculture partners to ensure proper deployment and execution of equipment operation and logistical protocols.
- Work with internal and external commercial and R&D teams to troubleshoot potential issues and develop effective, cost-efficient, and scalable modifications or solutions.
- Conduct technical analysis of agricultural equipment and the effects on the overall cropping system to enable key business decisions relating to cutting edge technology.
- Work in a cross-discipline environment with high degree of flexibility, including working with external partner collaborations, public / private research organizations, etc.
- Mentor and build talent of team members related to agricultural equipment and processes.
- Travel, as needed, to lead harvesting activities, identify / analyze potential agricultural equipment, attend equipment trade shows, and support agricultural team objectives.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of agricultural equipment development
- Familiar with agricultural practices in the Southwest US
- Live within commuting distance or ability to relocate to SW Arizona or SE California
- Capable of performing in-field tasks >75% of time, including physically demanding field activities in an outdoor environment in high Southwest desert temperatures
- Demonstrated ability to accomplish tasks independently, while functioning in a team environment, to complete projects within required timeframe and budget
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to interact with cross-functional team members and external partners
