About the role

Position Summary: The Software Engineer is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the Oracle Field Service environment. This role supports both field operations and back-office functions by ensuring integrations, configurations, and compliance processes run smoothly. The Administrator works closely with IT, operations, and business stakeholders to provide technical oversight, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements aligned with organizational goals.

Essential Functions:

System Administration

  • Manage and configure OFS activities, resource hierarchies, calendars, routing profiles, quotas, and service request types.
  • Maintain work zones, work skills, and properties to align with operational requirements.
  • Oversee template and activity configurations to ensure consistent and efficient scheduling.

Integrations & Data Management

  • Monitor and support integrations between OFS and other enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, HR, or data warehouse platforms).
  • Manage exception handling for work orders and service requests where automated release logic requires intervention.
  • Ensure synchronization of units, inventories, and resource data across systems.
  • Support data extracts and strategies for reporting and analytics, including handling of delta data.

Operational Support

  • Provide administrative support for field users and back-office teams, reducing manual effort in managing work orders and activities.
  • Assist with time entry and labor compliance processes within OFS, including adjustments and corrections as business rules allow.
  • Support custom plug-ins or extensions (such as compliance or safety tools) and ensure smooth data capture and workflow execution.

 

Compliance & Reporting

  • Configure OFS to align with compliance standards, including labor tracking, notifications, and data capture.
  • Work with reporting teams to validate OFS data against enterprise systems and exception reports.
  • Troubleshoot fallout cases (e.g., missing work orders, failed syncs, integration delays) and escalate as needed.

 

Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to identify system improvements, reduce manual workarounds, and enhance user experience.
  • Participate in release management processes, validating OFS changes in development and test environments before production rollout.
  • Provide training and documentation for supervisors, dispatchers, and back-office staff on OFS processes.

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or other relevant fields of study
  • 3+ years of hands on experience with oracle field services, oracle integration cloud and cloud B2B service cloud
  • Good understanding of DevOps and QA processes
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to effectively manage business objectives. 
  • Superior analytical, interpersonal and communication (written, verbal, and technical), skills. 
  • Ability to assess customer requirements, identify business problems, and demonstrate proposed solutions. 
  • Comfortable interacting with end users.
  • Have the mindset to continuously improve product delivery.
