Job Description
At Atlas, we're providing services that enable communities to flourish and thrive, and if you’re looking for a construction materials testing internship and are ready to Assist with laboratory testing of construction materials and committed to doing meaningful work, then this is your moment. You’ll Assist with construction-materials testing, specimen preparation, field support, documentation, equipment upkeep, and adherence to ASTM/ACI/AASHTO procedures and safety requirements.

Core Responsibilities

Assist with laboratory testing of construction materials, including: Concrete (compressive strength, cylinders, beams, air, slump, etc.) Soils (sieve analysis, moisture content, Proctor, Atterberg limits)

Support field sampling and inspection activities under supervision

Prepare, label, cure, and track test specimens

Accurately document test data, observations, and results and assist with report preparation and quality control reviews

Maintain laboratory equipment, tools, and work areas

Follow established ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, and internal procedures and comply with all safety requirements and actively participate in safety culture

Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework in: Civil Engineering Construction Management Engineering Technology Materials Science (or a related technical field)

Strong interest in construction materials testing and inspection

Ability to work in both laboratory and outdoor field environments

Willingness to learn industry standards, procedures, and certifications

Reliable transportation and ability to travel to job sites as needed

Strong technical curiosity and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and repeatability

Ability to follow procedures while asking questions when unclear

Strong work ethic and professional communication skills. Interest in long-term growth within construction inspection or materials testing

ACI (American Concrete Institute) – preferred or willing to pursue. Interest in ASTM,
