Job Description

The Business Analyst 2, Nordstrom Restaurant Division partners closely with division leadership and cross-functional teams to support inventory planning, systems, and process improvements. This role serves as a key analytical partner to Restaurant Operations, Culinary, Sourcing, and Technology teams, by delivering data-driven insights that support profitability, operational efficiency, and enterprise initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, a working knowledge of restaurant and inventory operations, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment while supporting leaders and teams across the organization.

This role is hybrid and based in Seattle, WA. Candidates must be available to work onsite at the Nordstrom corporate headquarters a minimum of four days per week.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Planning & Systems

  • Support the development and execution of inventory planning strategies and system enhancements across Nordstrom Restaurant Division locations, under the direction of division leadership.
  • Partner with Restaurant Operations, Sourcing, and Technology teams to assess inventory management tools, processes, and platforms; provide analysis and recommendations to support system integration and continuous improvement.
  • Support inventory forecasting and replenishment activities through analysis of historical sales, seasonality, and operational inputs to align inventory requests with demand and business needs.
  • Analyze inventory, cost, and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities related to waste reduction, menu changes, capital investments, and operational initiatives.
  • Prepare clear reporting and analytical summaries to support decision-making by division leaders and business partners.

Process Analysis & Optimization

  • Support efforts to map, document, and evaluate end-to-end operational and financial processes with an emphasis on inventory-related workflows such as procure-to-pay, inventory management, and cost of sales.
  • Identify process inefficiencies, control gaps, and improvement opportunities through data analysis and stakeholder engagement.
  • Assist in quantifying potential impacts of improvement opportunities and support prioritization discussions with division leadership and partners.

Process Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Document back-office processes and system workflows related to POS, inventory management, and cost of sales to create clear, sustainable standard operating procedures for store and corporate teams.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline manual processes, improve data accuracy, and enhance information flow across systems.
  • Support testing, validation, and rollout of system changes, enhancements, or new tools in partnership with Restaurant Technology and business teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as business analytics, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, or a related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or a comparable analytical role
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and communicate insights to support continuous improvement and course correction
  • Working knowledge of inventory or supply chain processes and systems; experience in restaurant, fulfillment, distribution or inventory planning environments preferred
  • Understanding of restaurant operations, inventory ordering, and cost structures
  • Familiarity with project management principles and structured problem-solving methodologies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with strong skills in Excel
  • Experience with inventory reporting, data analysis, and basic modeling
