Job Description:
Iowa State University is seeking a dynamic and experienced Learning & Development Specialist II to join our team. This role will focus on developing, executing, and managing training programs to support ongoing and new initiatives at the university. The ideal candidate will have experience in instructional design, training program execution, and project management, along with proficiency in a variety of learning management tools. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams, build strategic relationships, and drive the successful adoption of initiatives across the university.
Example of Duties
• Develops and prepares training and instructional materials, including, but not limited to: Knowledge Base Articles (KBAs), Digital Learning Courses (DLCs), Instructor-led Trainings (ILTs) outline, Demonstration videos
• Assesses instructional need.
• Provides instruction to participants.
• Prepares training materials.
• Prepares, maintains and operates audio-visual equipment, computer equipment and software and other educational aides.
• Solicits feedback from participants via surveys and other mechanisms to determine transference of knowledge and areas of improvement.
• Tracks attendance of participants.
Level Guidelines
• Intermediate-level position with solid professional and/or technical skills working under general supervision to achieve goals
• Applies broad, working knowledge of the principles of the field to moderately complex, difficult, and varied problems and issues
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action and resolve problems
• Responds to a broad range of inquiries and requests
• May provide training and/or direction to lower-level staff
• May lead projects of moderate scope and complexity
• Provides guidance to students
