If so, the University of Southern Maine (USM) invites you to apply for the exciting opportunity to join the President’s Office as an Executive Receptionist and Administrative Specialist!

You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the President’s Office, serving as a first point of contact for faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.

What You’ll Do:

  • Greet and welcome visitors with a positive and professional attitude.
  • Answer phones with professionalism and efficiency, screen calls, take messages, and transfer calls effectively as appropriate. 
  • Represent the Office of the President in a professional, collaborative, problem-solving and knowledgeable manner
  • Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk.
  • Provide multiple levels of support to our CBO and our VP of Enrollment Management and Marketing including data reporting; meeting scheduling and planning; material creation and more.

Located on our Portland campus, this full-time position will pay $22.08/hour (non-negotiable) for a new hire or the appropriate transfer rate for a current employee with the University of Maine System.  This is a confidential, non-rep hourly position.  

This position provides a terrific opportunity to pursue a bachelor’s or advanced degree through the university’s generous tuition waiver benefit.
