The Role:

  • Join our friendly, motivated multidisciplinary team based in the Allambi Primary Health building near to the Launceston General Hospital. 
  • The service provides advice, support and clinical leadership in palliative care across the north/northeast of Tasmania with a focus on complex symptom management, support/advice for primary providers and a holistic approach to palliative care within acute inpatient consultation, hospice care & a large community sector.

The Registered Nurse - Community:

  • Provide expert palliative advice to clients, community service providers, GP's and rural inpatient facilities to support management & care of those diagnosed with a life limiting illness, with a focus on quality of life & end of life planning. 
  • Consistent with ongoing experience strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients/clients, their families and other health professionals within the defined community practice area.

Specialist Palliative Care Service North - Primary Health North - 33-39 Howick Street, Launceston, 7250:

The Specialist Palliative Care Service is a small team made up of medical, nursing, allied health and administrative staff.  All staff work collaboratively to support palliative clients in multiple care settings including hospital inpatients, hospice, RACF & community. Palliative care is an ever-increasing population within health care, who are primarily support by core primary providers such as GPs, community nursing and home care services.  The specialist palliative care service provides expertise, consultation & and a multi-disciplinary approach to assessment & management for complex palliative clients across the entire North/Northeast region Tasmania. Our service sits under Primary Health North and collaborates with all community services in the shared care of clients across the region.

Details of appointments:

Permanent part time, shift worker position, working 32 hours per fortnight, commencing from 6 January 2025. 

Fixed Term, full time, shift worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 12 December 2024 until 14 June 2025.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $75,902 to x102, 908 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023 and Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Interim Agreement 2013

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible

  • Access to the Grade 4 salary range $96,558 - $102,908 is subject to successful app
