As a Quality Assurance Engineer for the Global solutions division of ASSA ABLOY, you will have the opportunity to significantly impact the evolution of our next generation Cloud services and work with a wide range of technologies to drive innovation. You will get to work on a team that keeps growing, innovating, and giving you room to be proactive, creative and develop unique perspectives on how various services interact with each other.
Reporting to the Software Manager, you will play a key role in helping to maintain the quality of our solutions by performing ad-hoc and structured testing, creating, and executing test plans, recording test results, and identifying/recording defects. You will also serve a leading role on the Software Operations team that collaborates with the Software Development team, where you will be performing Application/API support and Advanced Professional Services to help drive the success of our solutions.
What you will do…
- Manage the end-to-end testing of our products and platforms to ensure problem solving and resolution actions are effectively implemented
- Execute tests and validate test results as defined in test procedures
- Automate QA testing to improve speed and coverage
- Analyze agile project requirements/specifications, designs, implementations, acceptance criteria, user stories, and estimates to define full coverage test scripts/cases
- Work directly with customers and support teams to address escalation issues, bugs, and requests
- Investigate escalated product faults to code level for our distributed applications and drive collation and communication of the code fault to Software Development teams
- Test and support applications that interface with hardware via proprietary firmware and communication protocols
- Analyze our products for compatibility, enterprise, and cloud scale
What we expect of you…
- 1+ years’ experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer
- Experience in creating test plans, test cases, and test scripts
- Manual testing experience (browser based, desktop, and mobile)
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, Swagger or similar software with the ability to read and write JSON payloads
- Proficiency in functional, integration, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing
- Ability to identify, document, and track software defects to closure using defect tracking tools
- Experience with Microsoft IDEs (Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code)
- Experience testing applications on Android and iOS
- Experience with test case management systems (such as Zephyr)
- Experience with issue management systems, such as Jira, TFS, etc.
- Experience with cloud-based SaaS architecture (Azure/AWS/Google)
- Experience with DBMS and SQL queries to perform database testing
- Experience with test automation and scripting languages (Java, C#, PowerShell)
- Systematic problem-solving approach, with excellent communication skills and sense of drive
- You will ideally be in, or within driving distance to, Charlotte, NC
