Software Engineer, Omnichannel Commerce (Backend)

Job Description

The Omnichannel Commerce (OC) team is hiring a Software Engineer to contribute to building out a cohesive product experience across the Square Ecosystem. The Omnichannel Commerce team is responsible for the #1 strategic objective and initiative across Square, enabling Omnichannel. We believe that sellers should be able to take a sale anywhere and meet buyers where they are and serve them across multiple channels. In this post-pandemic world, Sellers should never miss a sale and need greater operational efficiency as they operate with less staff.

You’ll help bring this vision to life as part of the OC - Fulfillment Operations team. It’s our mission to enable a seamless setup and operations experience across the food and bev vertical. You’ll be collaborating across engineering teams at Square to bring this product roadmap to life.

The OC team is a part of the broader Commerce Platform team both of which are remote organizations and located all over the map.

Qualifications

You have:

• Several years of experience shipping high-quality products or platform features
• Experience in working with modern MVC frameworks
• Experience working in Agile Methodologies
• Collaborated with other product teams and engineers to ship platform services or features that meet customer needs

• AWS, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, Memcached

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $152,100 - USD $185,900
Zone B: USD $144,500 - USD $176,700
Zone C: USD $136,900 - USD $167,300
Zone D: USD $129,300 - USD $158,100
