About the role

ING offers a great opportunity for professionals with a FEC background who would like to join the ING Wholesale Banking - Financial Crime Compliance -Transaction Monitoring Team. We are hiring a Senior Financial Crime Compliance Specialist who’s focus will be on leading all Transaction Monitoring (TM) aspects, including keeping oversight and advising Key Stakeholders in 1st Line of Defence on the WB areas Correspondent Banking (CB), Payment Service Providers (PSP) and Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASP).

The Team

You will work within a team of TM experts within WB Financial Crime, with key stakeholders in the respective WB Business Units globally and with Group FCC within the TM Controls Expert Group project to keep global oversight in further embedding the TM Control Framework within ING.

Roles and responsibilites

As a Senior Financial Crime Compliance Specialist you:

  • Have in-depth knowledge of AML/CTF requirements for the products in scope, including the Dutch AML Act, EU directives and Industry guidance’s, and has a good understanding off the compliance control framework in general.

  • Actively participates in executing elements of the TM Control Framework, including horizon scans and data driven product risk assessments to identify significant and relevant AML/CTF risks ING is exposed to and advises the Business on remediating action to be taken in the TM domain.

  • Actively participates in implementation projects for TM systems related to CB, PS and VASP.

  • Advice Senior Stakeholder with actionable items on how to effectively remediate AML/CTF-risks identified in TM product risk assessments and keeps WB FCC and Group Management informed of developments in this area.

  • Critically evaluates and challenge processes and methodologies for identifying, documenting, and assessing compliance risks associated to the WB products CB, PSP and VASPs.

  • Keeps abreast of all TM related audit- and self-identified issues in these areas and ensures oversight over actions plans if they are executed timely and adequately.

  • Maintains, manages, and leads interactions with various Key Stake Holders, is critically balancing and navigating competing interests, and ensures that the outcome of related processes and procedures like TM risk assessments are adequately and effectively managed.

  • Is confidently advising and challenging on TM related matters, providing different perspectives, whilst at the same time maintaining and building professional relationships.

As a Senior Financial Crime Compliance Specialist you have the following traits and experience:

  • Have a minimum 4 to 6 years of proven experience in the (international) compliance / financial crime compliance domain, with a focus on Transaction Monitoring.

  • In-depth knowledge of AML/CTF requirements, including the Dutch AML Act, EU directives and industry guidance’s, and has a good understanding off the compliance control framework in general.

  • Proven project and change experience, strong professional knowledge of the WB businesses CB, PSP and VASP, have worked within the FCC domain on the related Transaction Monitoring processes and procedures,

  • Preferably a commercial or consultancy background in these areas.

  • Proven TM experience and knowledge with regards to traditional rule and AA/AI based TM solutions.

  • An academic background, and ACAMS certification, ICA AML Diploma or equivalent are preferred.

  • Strong and proven analytical and writing skills, sound judgement and fluent in English.

  • Pragmatic, energetic and can work across functional and geographic lines.

  • A good communicator verbally and in writing, being able to convey complex messages in a simple way to bring an understanding to “why” change is required to achieve effective management of AML/CTF risks and to “what” needs to be done.

  • Proven experience in key stakeholder management.
