Junior Instructional Designer

NATECH is recruiting for a Junior Instructional Designer to support our contract with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) responsible for developing Air Traffic and Technical Operations training instructional content. This entry level position is ideal for someone with a foundation in instructional design that is looking to gain experience working with a team of experienced instructional designers and multimedia professionals.
While this position is remote, you will need to attend meetings and workshops as needed in Washington DC Metro Area
Responsibilities
- Assist our senior instructional designers with the creation of synchronous and asynchronous training materials following the ADDIE model as well as other rapid development models
- Provide technical research, writing and editing support to a variety of training products including course slides, instructor guides, student guides, handouts, job aids, storyboards, training announcements, training plans, course completion certificates, etc.
- Incorporate multimedia files (graphics, video, animations) into training products
- Participate in stakeholder and subject matter expert working sessions, capturing feedback and follow up actions
- Engage in creative design sessions with the instructional designers and multimedia development team
- Review and analyze evaluation results to aid the team in increasing training effectiveness
- Support Electronic Learning Management Systems (eLMS) and other FAA learning management support systems to include; organizing, managing, and maintaining Safety and Technical Training information, artifacts, and related training process management knowledge base
- Review content for accuracy and quality as part of internal quality control process
- Edit documents for grammar, formatting, and overall quality improvement
- 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelors degree (acceptable substitutions would be 3 years of experience with a masters degree, or 11 years of experience without a degree)
- Understanding of ADDIE model and knowledge of other rapid development models for developing instructor led training and web-based training (preferred but not required)
- Familiarity with e-Learning standards, to include SCORM and Section 508 requirements, web usability standards and practices, and evaluation models (preferred but not required)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal task guidance
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong grammar and formatting knowledge and experience
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint
