Staff Assistant III

Overview

The Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University is accepting applications to fill an office assistant position to support the Freshmen Academy and other programs as needed. Pay commensurate based on experience. The position will report to the Director of the Freshmen Academy. The Academy launched in the fall of 2023 to assist incoming business students adjust to college rigor, feel welcome and wanted in their new community, and to provide innovative content which focuses on communication skills, leadership traits, and personal development in a one-credit course.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to program leadership.
• Provide support to current and prospective students and other university and non-university stakeholders through office visits, phone calls, emails, etc.
• Execute events associated with the program (i.e. food, venue, swag, etc.).
• Assist with classroom support. Attend all sections each week.
• Assist with marketing/communications for the Academy.
• Support and manage teaching assistants across all sections.
• Ability to analyze program data (Qualtrics surveys, Canvas).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• 4 years of total experience, either a bachelor’s degree, associate degree and two years directly related work experience, or 4 years of directly related work experience.
• Demonstrated excellence in customer service, working on a team, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, or a related field.
• Experience in learning new technology platforms such as Canvas, Signal Vine, Salesforce, Box, Slack, Qualtrics, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Knowledge and Skills

Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and organizational skills.

Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands and changing needs.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential data and personal information.

Ability to work without supervision.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Skilled with programs such as Microsoft Office, Canvas, Qualtrics, Signal Vine, Salesforce, Box, Slack and Outlook.
