The Job:
As a Senior EHS Specialist, you’ll be part of our Stanley Engineered Fastening team working as an on-site employee. You’ll get to:
- Ensure plant’s compliance with State and Federal regulations and SEF policies and procedures concerning environment, health and safety.
- Administer ISO 14001 Environmental Management system.
- Coordinates and facilitates activities of EH&S Committees and Staff.
- Administer Health and Safety Programs both internal and external as it relates to Company and Employees.
- Conduct individual and group training sessions on Environmental/Safety for all employees to upgrade and/or develop new skills.
- Works with safety consultants, vendors, and other technical, educational, and governmental agencies in order to secure educational support and resource personnel needed for approved compliance programs, i.e. State & Federal Safety/Environmental, SEF EH&S Guidelines.
- Participates in root cause analysis and recommends changes & improvements.
- Performs Job Safety Analysis and other EHS projects/initiatives.
- Ensure compliance, follow up and close out to internal and external audits as it relates to EHS.
- Maintain relevant EHS logs and KPI reports monthly or as needed. Including report on Energy, waste and water data.
- Measures the effectiveness of safety/environmental courses to ensure training is being utilized on the job.
- Administer safety incident reporting program and EH&S audit/self-inspection program
- Responsible for preparing reports related to EH&S performance and communicating with management.
- Provides regular updates to supervisors on EH&S performance.
- Work with worker’s compensation provider to assist with administration of WC claims process
- Develop a safe and healthy environment where creativity, self-initiatives, and innovation are encouraged for all employees.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested by the Plant Manager and/or HR Manager.

- BS, Associates, or certifications in a related field of study is required.
- A minimum of one year experience in an EH&S role is required. 3 - 5 years experience in EHS capacity is preferred.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of Federal, State & Local Environmental Health & Safety/OSHA Regulations
- Ability to develop, implement, and measure safety training and effectiveness
- Ability to work with Computers—proficiency in Excel, Power Point, Word, Smartsheet
- Must maintain confidentiality regarding information pertaining to personnel issues and records
- Knowledge of Environmental Certifications such as ISO 14001, is strongly preferred.
- Must have demonstrated excellent communication skills, and ability to cross-functionally in fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to stand/walk throughout the building approx. 50% of the day.
- Ability to climb stairs as needed.
