Description

SUMMARY:

Oversee operators, schedule work to meet deadlines, solve problems, and train employees.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Actively promote and drive a culture of safety.
  2. Assign work to achieve maximum efficiency of work load.
  3. Monitor and train operators to meet quality standards for each part.
  4. Process and enter Labor/Production reports as required to ensure reliable reporting.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assign all work, both planned for and emergency jobs, to staff according to skills and abilities to meet schedule deadlines.
  2. Instruct operator how to run the machine properly and safely.
  3. Work with Quality Assurance in determining appropriate processes to be performed.
  4. Trains employees for procedural compliance.
  5. Inspect parts and provide operators interim approval if Quality Assurance is not available. May require the use of blueprints and inspection tools.
  6. Move parts within the plant, as needed.
  7. Make suggestions to improve processes.
  8. Complete shift reports I the IQMS system.
  9. Operate injection molding machines/provide breaks a needed.
  10. Order supplies needed for the department.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

           

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
