<h2>Overview</h2> <p><strong>Post Title: </strong></p> <p>Senior Radiographer </p> <p><strong>Post Status: </strong></p> <p>Permanent </p> <p><strong>Department: </strong></p> <p>Imaging &amp; Interventional Radiology Directorate</p> <p><strong>Location: </strong></p> <p>Beaumont Hospital &amp; Affiliated Sites   </p> <p><strong>Reports to: </strong></p> <p>Radiography Services Manager</p> <p><strong>Salary: </strong></p> <p>Appointment will be made on the Senior Radiographer Scale (€57,309 - €66,363) at a point in line with Government pay policy</p> <p><strong>Hours of work:  </strong></p> <p>Full-Time, 35 hours per week</p> <p><strong>Closing Date: </strong></p> <p>12 Noon on 10/04/2025</p> <p> </p> <p><strong><em>Please note the hospital reserves the right to close the competition early should a substantial number of applications be received.</em></strong></p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Purpose of the Role:</strong></p> <p>Reporting to the Radiography Services Manager and his/her deputy the position of Senior Radiographer requires an ability to lead and manage service delivery on a day to day basis within general radiology areas together with supporting the Clinical Specialist Radiographers in specialised area where in-service and/or post-graduate training has been completed.  An ability to work in a rapidly changing environment and willingness to undertake such additional duties as may be assigned from time to time is required.</p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Key Direct Reports:</strong></p> <p>Basic Grade Radiographers</p> <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <p><strong>Principal Duties &amp; Responsibilities: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Be respectful of the confidential nature of the role, in particular the patient’s right to confidentiality.</li> <li>Read and adhere to all relevant policies, procedures and guidelines of Beaumont Imaging &amp; Interventional Radiology Directorate.</li> <li>Be aware the highest standard of hygiene must be maintained in the Hospital at all times and all staff members are responsible for ensuring compliance with the Hospitals requirements and standards with regard to hygiene. </li> <li>Ensure that effective safety procedures are in place to comply with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005. Each staff member is individually responsible for ensuring that the Hospital remains a safe place to work. </li> <li>Be appropriate in the use of Information Technology and mindful of Confidentiality Law and Ethics, Privacy and Data Protection.</li> <li>Help with induction of new staff. </li> <li>Be responsible for ensuring high standards of radiographic Images. </li> <li>Be responsible for reporting problems to Radiographic Services Manager / Deputy Re-equipment etc. </li> <li>Undertake training as required to junior Radiographers, student Radiographers, trainee Radiologists etc. </li> <li>Communicate with other members of staff to ensure efficient flow of patients through each area. </li> <li>Communicate with other Departments re patient flow e.g. ECG, Respiratory and Ward areas and liaise with clinical teams re patient queries and problems. </li> <li>Advise junior staff on Radiation Protection Protocols concerning patients and staff. </li> <li>Ensure patient comfort while in the Diagnostic Imaging Department, explaining</li> <li>procedures, waiting times etc </li> <li>Participate in on-call rota and sessional duties. </li> <li>Any other duties as assigned by the Radiographic Services Manager.</li> <li>Please note all radiographers hired by Beaumont Hospital can be assigned to work in radiology installations at St Josephs Raheny, St Lukes Radiation Oncology building on Beaumont campus and Beaumont Hospitals OPD installation in the OMNI shopping centre Santry.</li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>Professional </strong></p> <ul> <li>Ensure every patient is treated respectfully and provided with a high quality service.</li> <li>Relate to and communicate with all other staff in courteous manner at all times. </li> <li>Attend relevant postgraduate courses as appropriate. </li> <li>Assist with the quality assurance programme.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Operations</strong></p> <ul> <li>Be responsible as a team leader on a day to day basis for ensuring the delivery of a caring, efficient and confidential radiographic service to the patients within the general radiology areas of the Department.</li> <li>To undertake radiographic and imaging examinations as required in the Department of Radiology and associated areas.</li> <li>Take part in “on-call” and sessional duties out of hours, on a rotational basis.</li> <li>To have a flexible approach to work so that urgent cases can be arranged and facilitated as necessary.</li> <li>To contribute to the development and implementation of operational policies, protocols and guidelines to ensure optimum utilisation of resources and systematic audit of such usage.</li> <li>To participate and advise on the equipment selection,
