WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Working within an Agile development environment to produce high quality software
- Leveraging an existing Spring microservice architecture and contributing to its continued enhancement, extensibility and stability
- Leveraging and maintaining the existing technology stack as well as investigating emerging technologies for continuous productivity and capability improvement
- Developing extensible and scalable solutions by collaborating with customers and the broader RII development team
- Helping to design and implement new features and framework capabilities
- Optimizing and increasing performance of code
- Creating and maintaining automated testing capabilities for our components
- Debugging, investigating and fixing bugs
- Participating in code reviews to maintain code-base quality and awareness
WHAT YOU HAVE DONE
- BS in Computer Science, equivalent degree, or previous work experience
- 5+ years demonstrated experience
- Developed backend services using Java
- Experience with Spring Boot and Spring Cloud
- Experience working in an Agile development environment utilizing either Kanban or Scrum
- Experience with a project management tool such as Jira
- Experience with microservice environments and development efforts
- Experience with Docker
- Experience with Git and Pull Request review process
- Experience leveraging REST APIs with JSON
EVEN BETTER
- Experience with coordinated Full Stack development efforts
- Experience working with Spring Boot and the Spring Cloud Ecosystem
- Experience building services/applications using Python
- Experience building/maintaining analytic NLP pipelines
- Experience with both traditional and Big Data persistence stores such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Accumulo
- Experience with Elasticsearch
- Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka
- Experience with Kubernetes and AWS
- Experience building Docker containers to run in development and production environments
- Experience with Agile Methodologies and supporting technologies enabled by Atlassian products
- Experience building knowledge in Confluence
