Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a highly qualified Senior Director of Contracts, Operations and Government Property (D2) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The Director will be an integral member of the sector Contracts, Compliance and Pricing & Estimating leadership team and will be welcomed into an environment where input is invited, growth is encouraged, and mutual support is the standard. This role reports directly to the Mission Systems Vice President of Contracts & Pricing and Corporate Compliance Officer.  

This in-office position may be in Linthicum, MD; Rolling Meadows, IL; Fairfax, VA; Woodland Hills, CA; Chantilly, VA; Annapolis, MD, or Baltimore, MD.

This position is comprised of operational and compliance elements structured to drive continuous efficiencies through identification and integration of best practices, centralization of key processes and procedures and effective utilization of resources.  The successful candidate will also collaborate with the Digital Transformation Office (DTO), other sectors and functions sharing best practices, technology and tool sets to drive efficient performance outcomes to support business objectives.

They must also work independently, act with a sense of urgency, possess excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills, and skilled in looking for ways to help our teams get work done more efficiently and effectively while always ensuring compliance and driving the strategic direction. In addition, the successful candidate must be able to lead an engaged, geographically dispersed team and develop highly effective stakeholder relationships. 

What You'll Get to Do:

The Director of Contracts, Operations, and Government Property serves as a trusted advisor and partner to the sector Vice President of Contracts, Pricing & Estimating (P&E), and Corporate Compliance Officer with the following:

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify sector focus areas for process improvement/streamlining and development and execution of operational initiatives.
  • Work with management teams within the division and sector to develop innovative solutions for complex processes and issues.
  • Drive execution of strategic initiatives and tasks working with cross-functional teams and business leaders across the organization and enterprise.
  • Act as the focal point with Corporate Contracts & Pricing to ensure widespread company best business practice utilization, and lead in the development of tools to meet organizational objectives.

Employee Development and Engagement:

  • Build and develop high-performing teams that achieve success through a strong culture of early engagement, internal collaboration, and critical thinking including cross-functional/cross-organization teams.
  • Lead and foster professional development through choreographed training, learning by doing initiatives, coaching and mentoring.
  • Serve as a role model for diversity and inclusion by seeking out and including diverse opinions and perspectives, to include the ability to solve complex problems with new ideas from a variety of sources.
  • Organize and implement employee engagement activities such as, Leader Site Visits, Roundtable discussions, All Hands and Leadership Forums, etc.

Stakeholder Management and Communications:

  • Support Sector and Corporate Contracts Councils and provide resources and briefings to assist with identification and completion of key strategic initiatives.
