Work Shift:

This is an on-site position - Monday through Friday. In addition to normal business hours, this position will be expected to work nights, evenings, and weekends as specific business needs require.

Purpose:

Provide leadership, oversight, and administration of innovative student-centered activities and programs, including a traditional college programming/activities board composed of 10 student-led committees.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop and initiate student leadership and mentoring programs.
• Lead, motivate, supervise, and evaluate four professional team members, as well as student employees.
• Participate as a leadership team member with University Unions in decision-making, problem solving, strategic planning and assessment.
• Serve as coordinator of student advising, student programming budgets, collaboration, program evaluation and assessment.
• Establish and maintain relationships with internal/external partners and peer institutions to develop and share best practices.
• Coordinate and/or participate in appropriate University of Texas committees, task forces, and professional associations and conferences.
• Lead the departmental budgeting processes; make fiscally responsible decisions and recommendations.
• Review and edit all contractual agreements from internal and external sources.
• Ensure that all programs and activities are consistent with the mission and goals of the University.
• Serve as a student advocate, providing guidance and appropriate referrals to students seeking assistance.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Higher Education, college student personnel or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in advising and administering student programming in a higher education setting.
• Minimum 5 years professional experience supervising full-time staff.
• Demonstrated expertise working with students and student leaders within an educational setting.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
• Excellent leadership, organization, interpersonal and oral/written/presentation skills.
• Able to be flexible as business needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

• A PhD or other advanced degree.
• A demonstrable track record of leading, motivating and managing professional staff teams both directly and indirectly to achieve signifi
