About the Role
Sellers Dorsey is seeking a Product Research Analyst who will support the Product team. As the Product Research Analyst, you will supply the Product team staff and leadership with critical information about hospitals, physicians, and state environments to enable decision making about Product opportunities. The research, analysis and reporting performed in this role will equip members of the Product team with vital intelligence that will guide efforts to identify and pursue prospective products which our clients could benefit from. This role requires an applicant experienced in the independent development of research work products within an organization, also with experience collaborating across functions to ensure high quality and technically accurate outputs. This position is ideal for a professional with experience in any of the following: healthcare Industry, healthcare policy, Medicaid industry, or a demonstrated background in an academic program or other accelerated learning environment involving broader health care research and intelligence. Key Responsibilities
- Market Analysis. Leverage market data, policy research, industry trends, client feedback (formal or informal) and employee innovation to identify potential areas of opportunity for new product development. Assimilate the information to propose prioritization of new product concepts to product development leadership. Develop and maintain database of market information to inform decision making.
- Competitive Analysis: Examine brands and offerings similar and adjacent to current or pipeline products and services to gain insight into their offerings, branding, sales, and marketing approaches. Use findings to inform product feature/function roadmaps, marketing approaches, proposal responses and overall product strategy. Create and maintain competitor data and coordinate dissemination to business leaders as an input to strategy.
- Conference Attendance. Attend innovation focused industry conferences as a method of gaining outside-in feedback. Assimilate findings and disseminate for product and data leadership teams.
- Product Canvas: Author product canvas documents for all new pipeline concepts; coordinate updates with product director and managers throughout product development lifecycle. Collaborate with SMEs throughout the organization as necessary and appropriate.
- Establish and maintain standards for research work products, including research procedures and templates for work products.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Health policy, health care finance, health administration or a related discipline.
- 2-4 years in a research or business analysis role.
- 2-4 years of professional experience in a relevant healthcare setting OR 1-2 years’ experience combined with relevant advanced education required.
- A track-record of assimilating disparate data sources into a digestible and actionable format
- Experience managing competing priorities.
- Experience with market and competitive research.
- Experience in Medicaid, health care and/or human services is desirable.
- Knowledge of the state health care landscape, e.g., Medicaid, state health/human services agencies, public health, health insurance, or managed care.
