MissionVet is a multi-disciplinary veterinary specialty and emergency hospital, and we are currently seeking an Overnight ICU Inpatient Veterinary Technician to help us continue to build our specialty practice and work in Emergency Inpatient Care. As an essential part of our hospital, our technicians play a vital role, using their skills and expertise to provide exceptional care for patients and compassionate support for clients. Compensation:
  • $20 - $23 depending on experience
    • $3 hourly overnight differential
    • $1 hourly weekend differential
Schedule (Part Time Available):
  • Weekends
  • 7:30a-8pm
Key Responsibilities:
An ICU Veterinary Inpatient Technician plays a critical role in providing intensive, round-the-clock care to hospitalized animal patients requiring advanced medical support. Working closely with veterinarians and the broader medical team, the ICU technician monitors vital signs, administers medications and fluids, manages oxygen therapy and critical equipment, and responds to changes in patient condition with urgency and precision. They are skilled in interpreting clinical data, performing diagnostic tests, and delivering high-quality nursing care to stabilize and support critically ill or post-operative animals. This role also includes maintaining detailed medical records, assisting in emergency procedures, and communicating patient updates to both veterinarians and concerned pet owners. Compassion, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment are essential in ensuring the best outcomes for ICU patients.


As an ICU Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing life-saving care to pets. Your duties include:
  • Experience or familiarity with emergency care, including advanced ICU monitoring, CRI calculations, and fluid rate management.
  • Assessing and stabilizing critically ill patients while working closely with the veterinary team.
  • Administering medications and treatments under the direction of experienced veterinarians.
  • Providing compassionate support to concerned pet owners and keeping them informed about their pets' condition.
  • Ensuring accurate and detailed medical record-keeping.
  • Collaborating with veterinarians and team members to deliver exceptional patient care.
Who We’re Looking For:
  • Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) or Skilled Technicians with at least 2 years of experience.
  • Prior experience in Emergency and Critical Care is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus
  • The ability to thrive under pressure and make informed decisions in fast-paced situations.
  • A genuine passion for animal care and a commitment to patient well-being.
