Alert Innovation, now powered by Walmart, is a fast-growing venture on a mission to reinvent retail through robotics. We’ve partnered with Walmart to develop our Alphabot® technology, which is currently being deployed at stores throughout North America.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Quality Engineer in the electrical domain to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation, electro-mechanical systems, and plastic parts molding. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our products throughout the product lifecycle, from development to production and delivery to the customer. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate critical-to-quality dimensions into product design and drive continuous improvement in product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Integration: Act as the primary link between design and quality teams, ensuring that critical-to-quality dimensions are identified and seamlessly integrated into product design.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with design, SQE and manufacturing teams to establish robust processes for identifying critical dimensions and incorporating customer requirements into product design.
- Quality Issue Resolution: Work with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality, to identify and address quality issues promptly and implement effective solutions.
- Design Feedback: Provide valuable feedback on design changes from quality teams and ensure that necessary design modifications are made in response to quality concerns.
- Engineering Change orders: Support the Engineering Change Order (ECO) and ensure quality impact assessment (QAI) is completed, before drawing releases and ensure design information in Propel.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain Design Record Bill of Materials (BOMs) and support the development of Product Development Process (PDP) checklists.
- Inspection Support: Provide product specifications to facilitate the creation and approval of inspection procedures for finished products.
- Incoming Inspection: Collaborate with the Quality Assurance (QA) and site Quality teams to develop incoming inspection procedures for purchased products.
- Technical Support: Offer technical support to manufacturing teams to ensure product quality and process efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement: Ensure that lessons learned from quality issues are systematically incorporated into future product designs and manufacturing processes.
Additional Electrical PLC Focus:
- Evaluating the performance and reliability of PLC components within our automation systems.
- Identifying opportunities for optimizing PLC-related functions and features to meet or exceed quality standards.
- Work closely with PLC design and development teams to ensure the seamless integration and functionality of PLC components.
- Utilize your proficiency in Siemens TIA Portal and SIMATIC development tools to provide technical insights and support for PLC-related aspects.
- Stay up to date with industry-specific electrical standards and regulations to ensure our products adhere to relevant compliance requirements.
- Implement and oversee compliance measures related to electrical standards, including ProfiNET, in collaboration with the design and development teams.
Requirements:
- BS/MS in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent, Quality Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in product quality engineering, with experience in automation, electro-mechanical, and plastic parts molding.
- Experience in SCADA PLC-based controls
- Experience with Siemens TIA Portal and SIMATIC development tools.
- Understanding of industrial ethernet networks, including ProfiNET
- Strong understanding of quality management principles and tools, including SPC, FMEA, and APQP
- Knowledge of quality standards and regulations, including ISO 9001.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and identify root causes of quality issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in MS Office and other quality management tools and software
