Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
Position Overview:
The Manager of FP&A participates in the design and implementation of information strategies across Room to Read’s finance systems, maximizing the value derived from data and analytics to enhance decision making. This position contributes to organization-wide management reporting by introducing new analytics and insights by delivering high impact financial reports, guiding Finance colleagues, and building reporting capacity and efficiencies across the globe. The Manager works in close collaboration with the Director of Planning and Budgeting, as well as the Field Finance Director, and the Director of Operations Reporting and Planning. The position reports to the VP of Finance and is based in San Francisco, CA.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Reporting and Analytics (60%)
Design and prepare reporting that enhances the timely understanding of financial performance drivers, including achievement of annual budget goals, performance trends in expense and revenue, and drivers of performance variance vs budgets and prior years.
Work with the CFO to develop insight-driving financial metrics and dashboards to enable effective impact-focused decision making.
Ensure the timely and efficient integration of key performance metrics into reporting for C-level leaders for effective and timely decision making.
Provide increased visibility and insight into revenue through new analytics, common and transparent views of key concepts through reporting, and a high degree of partnership with our fundraising leadership.
Automate core reporting using Intacct, our cloud-based budgeting software, as well as other systems and AI tools, identifying their use cases.
Support country offices and field finance team in their development of insightful reporting.
Manage projects and ad-hoc financial analyses to support the CEO, CFO, and senior leadership.
System Optimization (40%)
Manage the continuous enhancement and support of Adaptive, Room to Read’s operational and financial planning tool. Collaborate with subject matter experts and Room to Read’s planning community to review options and direct the implementation of any system changes.
