Job Summary

Barings Real Estate, currently managing $50.2B in AUM/AUA, offers a broad spectrum of solutions across private real estate debt and equity within commingled funds, separate accounts, and joint ventures. Barings research-based and locally executed investment approach seeks to uncover relative value and deliver compelling risk-adjusted returns to our clients.  The Client Portfolio Management (CPM) team for Real Estate, in conjunction with Sales plays a lead role in promoting and distributing Barings U.S. Real Estate capabilities to the global institutional investor market.

This role will work with senior Client Portfolio Management team, the Real Estate Investment team and Global Business Development Group on new and existing business development matters, primarily in relation to the U.S. Real Estate debt platform but also supporting the US. Real Estate equity platform as required.

The candidate must be willing to become a Real Estate Subject matter expert, with the ability to present knowledgeably across the entire suite of Barings Real Estate products –equity and debt across U.S., European, and Asia Pacific products, encapsulating core to opportunistic strategies.  The candidate must have the ability to communicate the firms Real Estate products and solutions proficiently in both written and oral form with prospective and existing clients.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with the senior members of the Client Portfolio Management to execute the capital raising strategy for U.S. real estate products, with a primary focus on U.S. real estate debt products.
  • Coordinate and respond to Requests for Information and Requests for Proposals from clients and prospects.
  • Production and updating of investor and prospective investor materials – Investor Presentation, Factsheet, Due Diligence Questionnaire, Deal Summaries, in addition to adhoc requests
  • Build and foster a network of successful working relationships across internal stakeholders, primarily within the investment and distribution teams; communicate various aspects of investment strategies and financial markets internally and externally with the goal of maintaining and growing assets under management
  • CPM will serve as an active participant in meetings with current and prospective clients in order to position the Barings Global Real Estate Platform for growth.
  • CPM to participate in and coordinate product development initiatives (commingled funds and SMAs) for Real Estate with Barings Product Management groups.
  • CPM be able to develop knowledge of market competitors and product offerings.  CPM must lead and coordinate the production of additional support materials to inform and educate investors.
  • CPM to maintain Barings Salesforce CRM to track investor meetings, interactions, to record appetite for sectors/style/vehicle type, status, and next steps across capital raising initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 2+ years experience within financial services industry,
  • Clear communicator, both verbal and written for both internal and external audiences or stakeholders and ranges of seniority.<
