About the Role
At Florida Orthopaedic Institute – North Central Florida, we are committed to helping patients decrease pain, restore movement, improve function, and return to the activities that matter most to them. We are seeking a motivated, patient-focused Physical Therapist Assistant to join our growing outpatient orthopaedic therapy team in Ocala, FL.
This flexible part-time opportunity is ideal for a PTA interested in outpatient orthopedics, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, sports medicine, manual therapy, and post-surgical recovery within a collaborative, team-oriented clinic environment. The role was created to support a growing patient population and provide additional clinical coverage in a highly personalized outpatient setting.
This position is primarily based in Ocala, with occasional voluntary coverage opportunities at nearby clinic locations if desired. Potential future Saturday coverage opportunities may also become available.
What You’ll Do
As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), you’ll play a key role in outpatient orthopedic therapy, sports medicine, and physical rehabilitation. Working under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, you’ll help patients recover from orthopaedic injuries, post-surgical procedures, and musculoskeletal conditions.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities Include:
- Providing individualized patient treatments as outlined in the Physical Therapist’s plan of care
- Assisting patients through therapeutic exercises, mobility training, stretching programs, and functional activities
- Reinforcing individualized home exercise programs (HEP) and patient education
- Delivering evidence-based outpatient orthopaedic rehabilitation interventions
- Supporting manual therapy treatments and therapeutic modalities as directed
- Documenting daily treatment notes, progress updates, and patient assessments accurately and timely
- Communicating patient status changes promptly to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Collaborating with physicians, PTs, athletic trainers, and therapy staff to optimize patient outcomes
- Supporting the therapy team and clinic operations as needed
- Maintaining compliance with state regulations, payer guidelines, and company policies

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Active Florida PTA license
- Current CPR certification
- Compassionate, patient-focused, and motivated to help patients achieve their rehab goals
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Experience (A Plus, Not Required):
- Outpatient orthopaedic or sports medicine therapy experience
