The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Strategy and Business Development Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Working cross-functionally to support annual strategic and operational planning processes, including executive-level strategy formulation and communication (including professional PowerPoint presentations)
• Supporting Divisions in development of Division strategic plans and Quarterly Business Reviews to help ensure alignment to overall Business Group strategies
• Developing rigorous, fact-based, quantitative analysis to support recommendations; ensure strategic and financial soundness and alignment for any recommendations
• Investigating industry trends, competitive landscape, and technological advancements to inform strategy and identify emerging opportunities
• Supporting strategic initiatives sponsored by Group President, VP SBD and other SIBG Operating Committee members

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Master of Business Administration degree (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
• Five (5) years of experience in strategy, business development, general management, and/or market analysis in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Experience in safety and industrial industry in a private, public, government or military environment
• Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, including solid understanding of financial and statistical analysis
• Action-oriented, with emphasis on execution and results
• Ability to manage multiple work streams, with proven leadership success over a wide variety of functional business problems
• Ability to synthesize structured and unstructured data into a narrative and insights
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Power BI and Think-cell

Work location:

• Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Maplewood, MN at least 3 days per week)

Travel: May include up to 15% domestic/international
