About the role

The Minitab Marketing team is focused on enhancing the value of its client subscription model. A key part of this strategy is to add high impact learning offerings to the existing suite of tools and resources.

The Instructional Designer Intern will work with our Marketing team and our internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to tackle challenging subjects like: Six Sigma, Statistics, and Predictive Analytics. The Intern will transform our world-class training manuals into editable documents making future revisions easier. In addition, there will be opportunity to work on expanding our customer LMS.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Migrate training manuals to Adobe InDesign.
  • Review new e-Learning content.
  • Help with changes for new Learning Path format in LMS.
  • Create detailed, downloadable course outlines for each Learning Path / Course / Section / Activity in LMS.
  • Apply best practice adult learning techniques to create high impact learning.
  • Write short course descriptions, tags, blurbs etc. to create client interest and capture the essence of each course.
  • Maintain project documentation and course folders.
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing tasks as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to speak, read and write the English language.

  • Project management, organization, and time management skills.
  • Lesson and curriculum planning skills.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Ability to create, develop, manipulate, and share learning content using Adobe InDesign a plus.
  • Studying learning theories and instructional design models (ADDIE, Blended, Micro, etc.) a plus.
  • Knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System is preferred.
  • Commitment to support and apply Minitab’s Vision Statement.
